Analysis of ChatGPT Usage Intensity Patterns on Student Creativity and Productivity Using a Data Analytics and SEM-PLS Approach
Abstract
The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT, has provided significant support for students in carrying out academic activities. This study aims to examine the effects of Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Subjective Norm, Task Relevance, Content, Accuracy, Format, and Timeliness on the Intensity of ChatGPT Usage, as well as the effects of ChatGPT Usage Intensity on Student Creativity and Student Productivity. This study employed a quantitative approach by distributing an online questionnaire to active students at Universitas Dinamika Bangsa, Universitas Islam Negeri Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, and Universitas Jambi. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that all eleven proposed hypotheses were supported. The eight exogenous variables have a positive and significant effect on the Intensity of ChatGPT Usage, while the Intensity of ChatGPT Usage has a positive and significant effect on both Student Creativity and Student Productivity. Furthermore, Student Creativity also has a positive and significant effect on Student Productivity.
